It’s Thursday again! Time for another entry to my Throwback Thursday posts. If you are new to my blog, a few weeks ago I started a series focusing on how I have grown as an artist. I find a card I made years ago and remake it with current products and step up the design to be a bit more elaborate.
This week I have chosen a card that was super simple to improve upon.
I would say that this card is probably one of the more simple cards I have ever made. It is just a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the sentiment on Whisper White and framed in Early Espresso.
In keeping with the dad theme, here is my re-make.
I added some layering and moved the sentiment into the center. At first I placed the trophy in the same spot as the “dear father” on the brown card but I preferred it in the center on this one.
Here are the supplies I used in making the card.
I couldn’t find a good DSP I liked that was masculine enough so I created my own with the Touches of Texture stamp set. All the other images are from World’s Best Trophy stamp set.
I personally think adding sponging on the edges of some of the paper helps the card look more polished. 🙂
One way I like to make a card more interesting is to add layers and images on the inside.
Here is a comparison of the two side by side. I know they are not exactly the same layout but this was how I decided to interpret the step up and update to current products for my Throwback Thursday. 😊
Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you enjoyed today’s post. 🙂 If you would like to be one of the first to be notified when I have posted a new blog, please subscribe to my blog today! You can find where to do this at the bottom of the page.
As always, if you don’t have a demonstrator and want any of the products to remake my card, check out the product list below. I would love to become your go for all your Stampin’ UP! needs!
Until next time stampin’ friends!
