Hi Stampin’ Friends!

It is the first Monday of the month and our Color Fusers group is live with new ideas and designs!  When I saw this month’s colors, it was an instant Christmas theme decision for me.  I bet you see Christmas as well …

I knew I wanted to use a new set I had gotten from my up-line, Melissa Kerman, for helping her with a fun stamping day.

So I made the card but I wasn’t happy with the way the little holly berries looked with the leaves. I also felt the front leaf focal really needed something more.

Have you ever done that with a card design? Made what you thought you liked but then after looking at it for awhile, knew it needed something else and remade it? Not an entire remake of the design but just adjusted part to step it up a bit more?

That was what I did here. 😊 When I remade the card, I added some more touches of the gold. Felt that if I was going to have the Noel being embossed in gold powder, it needed to be done in other aspects of the card as well. I also decide to change the stamped holly berries to colored rhinestones instead. That really made a difference to me!

I also cut the Whisper White pieces on the front with the Stitched Shapes framelits. That REALLY made it all come together. I did have to improvise to come up with rectangles from the Stitched framelits as they have only squares, circles and ovals. Took a bit of experimenting but finally got it worked out!!

I will be creating a video for my YouTube channel later this week with a few tips and tricks with framelits and this will be featured there! Check out my channel here, and subscribe so you will be one of the first notified when it has been posted. 👍🏼

I did keep the multiple layers and the sponging the same of the original design.

The inside did need to be changed also since I decided to take out the stamped berries. Thought to bring in the gold embossing here as well. I personally find that when I have an accent with a metallic, I feel the need to incorporate that into multiple parts of the design. Is that just me or do you feel the same way?
